tips to better your game.

What is the best draft approach?
Do i take a pitcher or hitter with my 1st rounder?
Who are worth grabing with my 1st pick?

those are just some questions some of you may be thinking.

think of it as this...
1. whats your strengths? this is key!!! are you able to pitch with any pitcher? can you hit with the likes of a elvis andrus or freddy sanchez? its all your strengths that you have to go by.

2. the field of players available. is your favourite player a guy like rickie weeks? do you really have to draft him in the first 5 rounds? probably not. so look at the board, know what players you can play with!! it really helps you in the long run. personally i used to run a rotation of bucholz, oswalt, kazmir, scherzer, garza. all those players are based around the same stuff. i based my lineups around speed and OPS & OBP. you need guys on base to score runs. waiting for the 3 run bomb dont work well in the show! guys like myself will find out what you do in the first inning and exploit your weaknesses. so draft your team with the players left on the board. if you need a 3 stick and a guy like adam dunn is up there get him! he strikes out but so be it he hits bombs.

3. your ballpark- do you play at fenway? or at petco park? all parks play differently! so build your team around your park. if you play at fenway get righty's or get lefties who hit doubles and can pepper the green monster.

understand that you pick your player with your 1st round pick, you wanna try and take a hitter as there are a ton of pitchers available.
